Alert: Lake St. Clair Mile Roads Navigation Hazard 06-24-2016

| June 24, 2016

We were on our way back to the Clinton River Cutoff launch when we discovered something floating in the water. There was some color to it and something solid. At first I thought that it might be an overturned jet ski. We pull up on it and it turns out to be a log of massive proportions. You have to see this in person to fully appreciate how wide it is.

One end is floating at the surface and the other end is resting on the bottom. It rocks a little with the wave action but doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. A stronger wave action may cause it to move around and away from the coordinate that we found it at. N42 31.727 W82 50.980

God bless whoever rigged the exposed upper part of the log with a colorful swim noodle!
