Lake St Clair Bass Report 10-06-2016 Wayne Carpenter, Jeff Ferraiuolo
It was one of those perfect October days where the sky was high, the winds were low and expectations were set for finding schools of big smallmouth. We were not disappointed.
In only a few hours we managed to find a school of quality smallmouth along the edge of the Belle River Hump. There was a lot of fishing pressure for a Thursday at the Hump, but none where we were. We found these bass on the west facing side of the Hump.
Jeff managed to put the best smallmouth in the boat at 4.9lbs and 4.2lbs while I managed a few good ones, but lost many more. Tubes were on fire. We threw drop-shots and swimbaits but nothing bested the power of the Canadian Mist or St. Clair Crayfish tubes.
