Professional bass angler Bob Mann, and Rapala Product Manager Chris Hockley team up on Lake St. Clair for this trip in May, 2016. Chris brought along some new baits and he did reveal one that worked on Lake St. Clair immediately, a Shadow Rap in a Purple Haze color.

It was a calm day, sunny with light and variable winds. That made it easier to see any bass that were on beds or beginning to bed. As the day went on the sky got a little hazy but conditions were still good. This quality day came after a week or two of east and north winds which kept both air and water temps down.

They spend the day working their way up the U.S. shoreline and working their way up in weight. The catch of the day went to Jackie Mann however as she was grinding out some quality smallmouth with a tube.

The productive day was a success and it left Chris with a strong incentive to return back to these waters for more of the same.
