Lake St Clair Weekend Trend – NE, E, NNE, N, ENE
East winds will be buffeting the U.S. shoreline this weekend making it uncomfortable for anglers. The north winds will also tend to wrap around the shoreline and come in from the north east if you are fishing the Mile Roads.
The good news is that the weather shouldn’t impact the bite very much. The trend has been cold so the stability is a weird benefit to maintaining a steady bite.
Water quality shouldn’t be an issue either. If the east winds were a new thing then they would bring in heavily silted water but since they have been sustained, the water quality should be decent. Even so, smallies love the dirty water this time of year so no matter what you find it should be a win-win.
One strategy you can employ to make things more comfortable is to fish Anchor Bay instead of the Mile Roads. The Selfridge area should have a good variety of largemouth, smallmouth, pike and musky. You should find some protection from the east winds there. Fishing the north part of the bay at Selfridge or the north part of Anchor Bay will make for more comfortable conditions in a northerly wind.
