This color has become a top seller. This was one of the easiest designs I’ve ever attempted because it was based on a single live crayfish found down by Windmill Point in Lake St. Clair.
We were catching bass in good numbers but not so much on size that day. Turning them back became routine and after turning one back I noticed a whole crayfish on the boat deck. It had obviously been spit up by the bass but the surprise was that it was whole, and that it was still barely alive. Out came the camera and the rest is history.
In 2008 Mark Frickman used the drop-shot version of St. Clair Crayfish to secure his FLW victory on the Detroit River as an amateur and brought home $30,000.
