NEW: St. Clair Bass Fishing Report on YouTube
It’s time to start building up my YouTube channel, @stclairbass. To kick that off, I’ve uploaded the first installment of the St. Clair Bass Fishing Report on Friday, May 1. The fishing report will cover what I find out on my trips on the Lake, plus reports from other reliable sources. Published every Friday, it will also cover changing environmental conditions that affect bass fishing. If you ever subscribed to the Combat Bass Fishing Weekly Newsletter in the past, welcome to the digital version of that.
In the first report, I was happy to include photos and data from my trip, as well as information and photos from Dan Kimmel (www.greatlakesbass.com). Under difficult conditions, Dan still managed to produce a nice smallie and collect some environmental data. My trip turned out well once we worked through a lot of unproductive water. Getting the 4.6 lb smallie was nice, but being on a steady supply of bass in the three-pound-plus class was pure fun!
The report also included NOAA marine weather data, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water-level data, and a breaking news update on the May 1 EPA Emergency Waiver on ethanol.
The plan is to add Lake St. Clair documentaries and fishing reports throughout the season, and beyond.

Note to Marked Map owners: I’ve included an Easter egg in every report, where I enter Marked Map numbers by map title. This works just like it did in the Marked Maps Live app. Here are the color designations:
Black: Historically strong spots
Red: Spots where we struck out
Green: Spots where we caught tournament-quality
Blue: Spots where we caught bass that were not tournament-quality
Category: Bass Lake/River Reports, Fishing
