Lake St Clair Bass Report 09-22-2016 Wayne Carpenter Jeff Ferraiuolo

It was a perfect day on the water. The winds were light and you could pick and choose what part of this huge body of water you wanted to go to. We chose a northern route that eventually took us along the Walpole stake line.

This year has been great for size and today was no exception. If we chose to, we could have run up the numbers of bass caught by sitting on certain spots. We managed to get a double header with one smallmouth at 4 1/2 pounds and a second that was an easy six pounds or more. Unfortunately, we lost the biggest one at the boat but not before we both got a solid look at it.

Our best bass came in channel related waters.

The Canadian Mist and Sweet Green tubes were very effective. Several bass in the video were caught on swimbaits as well. The drop-shot wasn’t working for us today.
